Let cook David Buchanan surprise you with his Caribbean specialities in Uncle Mikkel cafe, at Hotel Mundal. The cafe is named after Mikkel Mundal (1857 - 1936), who was one of the founders of the Hotel Mundal, but also a well-known mountaineer and glacier climber. William C. Slingsby, author of "Norway, The Northern Playground" (1903) often came to stay in Fjærland when he was in Norway, and him and Mikkel did many glacier crossings together. David Buchanan, originally from Anchovy, Jamaica, is now living in Berlin. Here he runs a catering business.
